Pool Renovation – Part 1

Woot woot! We’re so very excited for this renovation we can hardly contain ourselves!

Living in Florida, your pool and outdoor space are essential and become a part of your everyday living space. In the new house our lanai was dinky! It was small and uninviting. We had visions for this area from the start but we needed time to get all our duck$ in a row before tackling this huge makeover. Well, the time has come and its underway! Yay!

When we bought the house we knew the pool needed some love but after about 2 weeks the pool pump broke. Not surprising because everything here was just patched together to make due through the sale and so after a few weeks the bubble gum fix on the pool pump let go. This led to the pool water not moving and sitting stagnant for quite some time. We finally got a new pump and Paul fixed it up.

The pool itself needed a makeover. The old, worn and outdated tile needed to be replaced, it needed a new interior finish, we wanted to expand the decking around the pool for a larger area, add a large roof extension to add more covered space and add a pool screen over the whole thing. This as you can imagine was going to be a huge under taking. We hired this job out as it’s not really a DIY kind of project.

Next up will be the new roof extension and screen. Stay tuned!
