The Before…
I’ve just returned from a visit in the way back machine (the camera roll on my phone) and I came across some old pictures of our place. Thought I’d share them with you!

Woot woot! We’re so very excited for this renovation we can hardly contain ourselves! Living in Florida, your pool and outdoor space are essential and become a part of your everyday living space. In the new house our lanai was dinky! It was small and uninviting. We had visions for this area from the start but we needed time to get all our duck$ in a row before tackling this huge makeover. Well, the time has come and its underway! Yay! When we bought the house we knew the pool…read more
Wow! It only took us 3 years to finally get a new front door! Well, in my opinion it was worth the wait. The old door was nasty! It was ugly, had been repainted quite poorly by the realtor when he was putting ‘lipstick on the pig’, the design inside was crumbling, it was just a hot mess! Nonetheless, we finally got the new door ordered before Christmas. Several months later it came in and we got it installed. We’re so pleased with the updated look and the double doors…read more
Well, this is straight outta a movie, right? These are strange, strange times I have to say. The world has somewhat come to a halt, businesses have closed temporarily, the kids are now attending school virtually, parents are working from home if at all, life has slowed down considerably. How are we handling the quarantine? Well unlike so many of our family and friends who seem to be held hostage in their homes, our daily life continues to be busy. Horses still need to be fed and taken care of,…read more
So keeping up with this blog is harder than I though when we embarked on this adventure. Life gets busy and I guess it just has slipped through the cracks! I’m sorry, we’ll try to do better in the future.
We are so super stoked that Daylight Savings has rolled around again! We’re able to do more work outside now that we have a little more daylight. Paul can actually get a little tractor time in after work most days. Our property is sort of terraced, there’s quite a sizable grade difference from the back of the property to the front. It steps down probably about 20 feet if not more. The property was severely neglected for years and washed out majorly in several areas. So we decided we needed…read more
Well, it’s been a while since our last post and we have had lots and lots going on. The battle I’m having with the blog is how to keep all the posts straight. I want to update you on what’s happening now but I need to fill in the blanks as to how we got here and why we’re doing what we’re doing. I guess I’ll just post things as they come and it’ll be a hodgepodge of posts for a while. You guys will be able to put it…read more
Back in 2015-2016 we started our search for a property. We had several criteria for a new place, it had to be at least 5 acres, zoned for horses and farm animals, preferably with a barn, pastures and a riding arena. It also needed to be close to Disney so Paul’s work commute didn’t change much. We zeroed in on an area that met most of these criteria. The area was still in Winter Garden where we had put down roots and it was still close to grocery & shopping…read more
One tiny little key. Just a key in and of itself. But this key is special, very, very special…it unlocks the future. The future for our family, a dream many years in the making. This tiny little key unlocks out new life. Our new life and new home with lots of space and an amazing little barn. This key unlocks the next chapter of our lives…the farm. Last year Payton finally got her own horse! It was many years in the making. Dziadzia, Payton’s grandpa, used to ask her “What do you dream about when you sleep?” She would answer, “I dream about having my own horse.” So he would tell her all the time, “Sweetheart, when you’re ready, I will buy you any horse you want.” Well, unfortunately he passed away before that could happen. On August 27th 2016, Dziadzia fulfilled his promise…from heaven of course and delivered to Payton a sweet and beautiful horse named…read more
